Cashbuild continues to strengthen its commitment to the communities surrounding its stores through meaningful corporate social investment (CSI) initiatives that uplift children and families while supporting local development programmes.
As part of these efforts, Cashbuild Evaton has partnered with Reach Out Community Project, a non-profit organisation (NPO), by donating building materials and hardware. The official handover took place on 26 September 2026 in Evaton West, with the Cashbuild Evaton team joining the organisation’s staff and community members to mark the occasion.
Since its registration in January 2002, Reach Out Community Project has served the people of Evaton West in the Sedibeng region through nine integrated programmes. The organisation feeds more than 300 children daily and provides nutritional support to unemployed youth and older people. It also offers accredited computer skills training, provides shelter for survivors of gender-based violence and runs HIV testing services. The organisation employs more than 180 people from the local community.
The donated materials will help the NPO upgrade the kitchen at its Drop-in Centre, where meals are prepared for children aged 0–18 every day, including Sundays. The materials will also be used to build training classrooms at its Youth Skills Development Centre and erect a carport for its mobile kitchen truck.
“This donation goes straight into the heart of our work. Our kitchen feeds more than 300 children every day, and our young people need proper classrooms to build skills for work. We are deeply grateful to Cashbuild Evaton for standing with Evaton West,” said Dennis Dube, director of Reach Out Community Project.
Through initiatives such as this, Cashbuild continues to show that it is more than a building materials retailer. It is a community partner that invests in the growth, wellbeing and dignity of the people it serves.
