In our commitment to assisting communities, Cashbuild has been approached by Phinda Mzala Entertainment to sponsor a skills program for people living with disabilities. The focus of the program is to teach and train candidates in various skills, such as Sewing Machine operation, Pattern Making, working with Patterns, freehand cutting without a Pattern, Basic Sewing, Basic Technical Drawing, Sample creation, Sewing different types of accessories (Sportswear, gym clothing), and Entrepreneurship Skills. The program is designed with a developmental mindset to ensure learners gain necessary skills beyond performing arts.

There was collaboration with an accredited training company, Ubomi Ngumzamo Sewing, which provided the requisite training. This program aims to ensure that the livelihood of young fashion designers is improved and sustained, with the ultimate goal of reducing poverty.

The program will recruit 20 learners with disabilities (PWD). These learners will also receive training in entrepreneurship skills to ensure they become competent candidates who can contribute positively to the economy of South Africa by creating jobs, thus helping to reduce the high level of unemployment.

The director of Phinda Mzala, Mr. David Mahlaba, expressed his gratitude, stating, “Thank you so much for your generous donation to Phinda Mzala Entertainment. We truly appreciate your commitment to the development of people with disabilities. With your help, we were able to host our skills and development program. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
