Cashbuild has donated gardening tools to Lejwe La Thuso Community Services. Lejwe La Thuso is a non-profit organization based in Meadowlands, Soweto. The organization works with children and members of the community coming from mainly disadvantaged families.

They were permitted by six schools to erect vegetable garden within these school premises. The vegetables produced from the garden are used to feed the beneficiaries and also to be sold to the public for sustaining the organization. MS. Angeline Molete, Founder of Lejwe La Thuso Foundation approached Cashbuild for a donation of gardening equipment.

Ms Molete said “On behalf of the management of Lejwe La Thuso Foundation we would like to express our sincerest and most heartfelt THANK YOU to Cashbuild for the donation of garden equipment that we received on the 20th October 2020. Thank you seems to be such a small word to say when you see the difference that Cashbuild in the lives of our communities that we care for.

Thank you for giving – for when you give of yourself it is the greatest gift.” Head of Community Support at Cashbuild, Thembelani Tukwayo indicated that it’s in Cashbuild’s DNA that where the company trades we make valuable community contribution. “This is a great initiative by Lejwe La Thuso Community Service. Cashbuild cannot lead community development alone and neither should anyone but it’s through partnerships like this that we can take our communities forward. What I like about this project it’s not just charitable giving in a manner that induces dependency but rather it’s about a self-sustaining community project that promotes livelihoods through urban community gardening,” said Mr Tukwayo.
