Last Week Cashbuild hosted its first workshop targeted at Local Brick and Block Makers. The Khula-Nathi Workshop was hosted in Sebokeng, where more than 15 local manufacturers were in attendance.
The agenda was jam-packed with exceptional value presented by representatives from industry leaders such as Afrisam, CIDB, Mamba Cement, Lefika Ntswe, NHBRC and SARS.
Head of Community Support Initiatives at Cashbuild, Thembelani Tukwayo, says, “These workshops are part of our programme, which aims to ensure that we play a role in uplifting communities where we trade. We have many small producers of bricks and blocks in many of these communities. Whilst we can, why not make an intervention? It is of paramount importance that we provide the necessary information that will help them grow their businesses.
Cashbuild CSI strives to provide easy access to information to local small businesses more often because, without this information, local entrepreneurs will not be able to grow their businesses. It has been proven countless times that small businesses are critical to our economy, and we want to be part of that.”
A number of entities have been identified throughout the country, and Cashbuild will be launching a programme to upskill and resource these local manufacturing enterprises such that they can supply our stores where possible. The Khula-Nathi Local Brick and Block Maker programme is part of Cashbuild’s Supplier Development Programme.
