NAAS SCHOOLS’ PRAYERS ANSWERED

A new shelter to use as a school and prayer hall, new door locks and new ceilings are some of the repairs that Naas school principals plan to make as a result of having won the Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition.  Altogether, eight Naas schools were each rewarded with Cashbuild building materials voucher worth R15 000 which were presented at the Cashbuild Naas Store Opening Ceremony held on the 5th of June 2015.
Mrs Nkuna, principal of Sambo Primary School said her learners usually pray outside but do not pray on rainy days so they will use the Cashbuild voucher to build a shelter where they can pray on a daily basis.

Mr Makhubela, principal of Mbazima Primary School joyfully added that we should’ve seen his junior learners jumping up and down with excitement. He continued to say that they wish for new door locks as the school experiences robbery from time to time.

At the official Cashbuild Naas Store opening ceremony held on the 5th of June 2015, the learners entertained everyone with singing, cultural dances and theatrical performances. Cashbuild building material vouchers totaling R120 000 were presented to all eight schools.

The Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition entails learners from each school submitting their best artwork to Cashbuild. This artwork is displayed at the ceremony, and then remains on display in the Cashbuild store for the next five years.

Artwork was judged and three winners from each school were named. Winners received Cashbuild Art-at-Heart gold, silver and bronze certificates for first, second and third place respectively. The Manager’s Choice award was also presented to the overall winner, Vusi Nyoni from Sambo Primary School. This award was announced on the day and the winner received a stationery pack and a glass trophy.
