REFRESHING NEWS FOR MMABATHO SCHOOLS

A fresh coat of paint, new ceilings, door and window handles were some of the repairs that Mmabatho school principals plan to make as a result of having won the Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition. Altogether, eight Mmabatho schools each received a Cashbuild building materials voucher worth R15 000 which was presented at the Cashbuild Mmabatho Store Opening Ceremony held on the 21st of April 2016. Diphetogo, Magokgwane and Melorane Primary Schools were just three of the eight schools that received Cashbuild vouchers.

The Principal of Melorane Primary School, M Sebigi praised the Lord while screaming with joy. Their school needs masses of paint to remove graffiti and vandalism from the walls. The Principal of Magokgwane Primary School, T Mokoma added, while thanking Cashbuild, that he is feeling wonderful.
Some of their classroom ceilings are leaking, with the rainy
season coming closer, they would like to start by replacing these ceilings.

Diphetogo Primary School’s Principal T Phejana said they were grateful for the winnings. They would like to replace their window and door handles as this becomes a problem when opening and closing their classrooms.

At the official Cashbuild Mmabatho store opening ceremony held on the 21st of April 2016, when the building material vouchers totaling R120 000 were presented to all eight schools, the children entertained everyone with singing, cultural dances and theatrical performances.

The Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition entails learners from each school submitting their best artwork to Cashbuild. This artwork is displayed at the ceremony, and then remains on display in the Cashbuild store for the next six years.

Artwork was judged and three winners from each school were named. Winners received Cashbuild Art-at-Heart gold, silver and bronze certificates for first, second and third place respectively. The Manager’s Choice award was also presented to the overall winner, Rebaone Moremi from Melorane Primary School. This award was announced on the day and the winner received a stationery pack and a glass trophy.
