RENOVATIONS FOR MAHALAPYE SCHOOLS

Eight lucky schools in Mahalapye have been chosen as the winners of the Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition. These schools were each presented with their prize of a Cashbuild building materials voucher worth P12 000 when the Cashbuild Mahalapye Store Opening Ceremony was held on the 26th of November 2015. Playground renovations, new door locks and fencing were some of the improvements that the schools will make using the Cashbuild vouchers.

The Principal of St James Primary School, A Moipone said their learners were very surprised, this was truly unbelievable to them. They are going to renovate and extend the school playground. Bonwapitse Primary School’s principal, G Tlhabiwa added that their learners jumped up and down with excitement. They are going to fence the school yard and install a fence protector.

The principal of St Patricks Mission School, A Kadisa said the community, the learners as well as the members of staff appreciate the efforts made by Cashbuild for their school. They need to replace a few windows, get new door locks as well as paint some of the classrooms.

At the official Cashbuild Mahalapye Store opening ceremony held on the 26th of November 2015, the learners entertained everyone with singing, cultural dances and theatrical performances. Cashbuild building material vouchers totaling P96 000 were presented to all eight schools.

The Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition entails learners from each school submitting their best artwork to Cashbuild. This artwork is displayed at the ceremony, and then remains on display in the Cashbuild store for the next five years.

Artwork was judged and three winners from each school were named. Winners received Cashbuild Art-at-Heart gold, silver and bronze certificates for first, second and third place respectively. The Manager’s Choice award was also presented to the overall winner, Moemedi Raphoroka from Tshikinyega Primary School. This award was announced on the day and the winner received a stationery pack and a glass trophy.
