ART BY ESHOWE LEARNERS IS REWARDED

Eight schools in the Eshowe area have been chosen as the winners of the Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition. They each received a Cashbuild building materials voucher worth R15 000 at the Cashbuild Eshowe Store Opening Ceremony held on the 18th of June 2015. Upgraded kitchens, newly tiled floors and freshly painted walls are some of the repairs that the Eshowe school principals plan to carry out.

Wombane Primary Schoolís Principal, M G Nxumalo said, while thanking Cashbuild, the learners feel very blessed to receive a voucher from Cashbuild. They currently prepare their food from a shack behind the school so they decided to upgrade the shack into a proper kitchen.

C F Dlungwana, Principal of Esiqwaqweni Primary School said they cannot wait to upgrade the schoolís dusty floors into tiles. The learners often complain of dust affecting their health, now that is all going to change. At the official Cashbuild Eshowe Store opening ceremony held on the 18th of June 2015, the learners entertained everyone with singing, cultural dances and theatrical performances. Cashbuild building material vouchers totaling R120 000 were presented to all eight schools.

The Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition entails learners from each school submitting their best artwork to Cashbuild. This artwork is displayed at the ceremony, and then remains on display in the Cashbuild store for the next five years.
Artwork was judged and three winners from each school were named. Winners received Cashbuild Art-at-Heart gold, silver and bronze certificates for first, second and third place respectively. The Managerís Choice award was also presented to the overall winner, Mungwe Zibusiso from Esiqwaqweni Primary School. This award was announced on the day and the winner received a stationery pack and a glass trophy.
