Since the Art-at-Heart campaign was launched twelve years ago, Cashbuild has helped more than 1,500 schools in Southern Africa with over R16 million worth of building materials.

A sense of community

At the core of Art-at-Heart lies three fundamentals of community, to which Cashbuild subscribes;

  1. A sense of community is the lifeblood of any organisation/community/country
  2. Having a home/shelter is the right of any human being and largely determines a sense of pride and value in each community
  3. Education provides one of the most important foundational tools for the future of any human being/community/country

Both Cashbuild’s vision and mission statement clearly indicate that Cashbuild;-

  1. aims to supply quality, affordable building material to Southern Africa; and
  2. is committed to making a difference to every community in which it trades

The Art-at-Heart Community Project,  provides a medium from which to address all three fundamental principles and to fulfil Cashbuild’s vision and mission statement.
